I received my Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Massachusetts in North Dartmouth, and a Master’s degree in Educational Media & Technology from Boston University. Apart from a dozen undergraduate fine arts courses, I am primarily a self-taught pastel artist of five years. Time spent painting beachside in my native Cape Cod has led me out into the professional artist’s world; a dream that I rekindled after working as a marketing communications writer in Boston, and in Melbourne, Australia.

I began pastel painting to present my parents-in-law with a gift before leaving Australia in 2002 with my husband. From then on, pastel painting has become a passion. This spawned a one-time chance-meeting in Bermuda with Master pastel artist Sharon Wilson, whose expert advice and tips accelerated my proficiency with pastels, and inspired me to stick with a medium often described as “difficult to learn.”

I continue to enjoy working in pastels, as I find it invaluable to the process of mastering color, and well suited to the often quickly changing light of the Cape Cod landscape.

Some of my artwork is currently on display at Cape Light Fine Art in Provincetown, MA.
